186k was a start-up venture which built a state-of-the-art UK national Internet Protocol network. 186k was a subsidiary of the Lattice Group (Transco), who invested £530m. Lattice plc & National Grid merged in 2002 to become National Grid Transco plc.

Mission

To lead and successfully deliver the start up and the ‘Go Live’ launch of the business.

Executive Reporting:

Reported to the CEO, member of the executive team.

Deliverables

• Launched the business to agreed timescales;
• Returned major capital savings from the £530m of investment to the shareholder;
• Implemented and managed the corporate programme management office;
• Led the transition from company start-up phase to an operational business, re-aligning staff and the business to a sales and marketing driven Company.
