IDX Case Study

Business

IDX Systems Corporation provides information technology solutions to maximize value in the delivery of healthcare, improve the quality of patient service, enhance medical outcomes, and reduce the costs of care. IDX was acquired by GE Healthcare in 2006.

Mission

IDX won 2 major UK contracts:

  1. The contract to supply enterprise software solutions to the National Health Service for all hospitals in London. As the major software electronic patient record solutions provider working with BT as the prime contractor. The contract was to rollout across all hospitals in London the enterprise solution.
  2. Supply UCLH (University College London) and successfully implement the ‘Carecast’ electronic patient record enterprise software solution.

"The successful implementation of Carecast is an exciting moment in the development of our state-of-the-art electronic patient record. It will enable us to work more efficiently and safely, bringing immediate benefits to our patients and staff. It coincides with the opening of the new University College Hospital last week and clearly demonstrates progress towards the Trust's 'world class' ambitions. It also points the way forward in modernising the NHS."

Robert Naylor, UCLH Chief Executive

Executive Reporting

When first appointed we supported the UK Managing Director to realigning and deliver the contacted programme deliverables ensuring that the business the executed on its agreed specifications, timescales and cost.

Subsequently Devatas were approached and appointed taking up the role as CEO of IDX International reporting to the Group CEO. We managed circa 700 UK and US staff. We supplied programme and project management team (programme director, programme managers, project managers & PMO).
